The Maitri Yojana or The Maitreyi Yojana

Along with the Karnataka Arundhati Scheme, the state government of Karnataka also launched the Maitri Yojana or the Maitreyi Yojana with the similar objective to extend monetary support to the impoverished Brahmin families of the state of Karnataka who cannot bear the expenses of getting their daughters married.

The government stated that the primal reason behind the launch of the two schemes, namely the Arundhati Scheme and the Maitri Scheme, was the upliftment of financially weak sections of the state, especially the priests and Brahmins who had suffered a lot during the pandemic due to uncertainty of work.

Under these schemes, the economically backward priests who want to get their daughters married can get upto Rs. 3 lakh as financial help from the state government of Karnataka.
