The Swasthya Sathi Scheme
Official website for registering for the West Bengal health insurance scheme is https://swasthyasathi.gov.in/. For availing the benefits of this scheme and registering, the following documents are required- Aadhar Card, a valid identity proof like a voter ID, a ration card or as such, a permanent proof of residence, BPL certificate, a certificate of registration for a medical organization along with authorized documents given by the State government i.e., the West Bengal Government. Prior to the registration, it is required that you first create a login ID with the official website of the Swasthya Sathi 2023 scheme. To do that, first visit the link at https://swasthyasathi.gov.in/. At the homepage, the login option is available at the top right corner of the website. Click on that and you’ll be redirected to the login portal. Then create a new username and password for logging in in the future. Finally, click on the Submit button. With the new login ID and password that you just created, you can log in to the website of the Swasthya Sathi scheme in the future easily.

Background of the Swasthya Sathi West Bengal scheme 2021
Prior to this scheme, the Chief Minister had started the ‘Duare’ campaign so as to understand the needs and expectations of the common public. As a result of the campaign, many people were affected. And so after the Duare campaign, the West Bengal government decided to launch various new schemes. One of them is the Swasthya Sathi 2021 health insurance scheme. Majority of the people are looking forward to registering online to avail this scheme.The government is already inviting application forms for the Swasthya Sathi scheme.
People can now apply for the Swasthya Sathi card online. Mamata Banerjee also announced that this Cashless health insurance scheme was funded entirely by the government of West Bengal and the government has provided the financial support of five lakh rupees for its health department. As per the announcement, the new Swasthya sathi scheme will be applicable from December 1st, 2020. According to the government estimation, around 7.5 crore people are to enroll under the Cashless health scheme 2021 of the West Bengal state. It is also claimed that this scheme will cover each and every family in West Bengal.
Furthermore, the chief minister informed that the central government provides only 60% of it’s funds for the ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’, but will provide 100% of financial support to the Swasthya Sathi scheme. The prime benefit of this Cashless Health Scheme will be availed via a Smart Card. The Smart Card will be provided to every family applicable, in all private as well as government hospitals of West Bengal.
Eligibility criteria for Swasthya Sathi yojana 2022
- All applicants should firstly be the permanent residents of the state of West Bengal.
- He or she should not have been registered under any other health-related government scheme already, apart from Swasthya Sathi 2021 scheme.
- Even the applicants who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) are eligible.
- The smart card is only for the female family members
- Applicants should have all valid details such as Aadhar card, BPL certificate, permanent address proof, ration card/voter ID etc. In case of any discrepancy, he/she will not be considered for scheme benefits.

Before registering themselves, applicants must make a new login ID and a password the steps for which have already been discussed earlier in the article. For registration you need to login again with the credentials that were created by you. The steps after that are given in detail below-
Step 1: Open the official link of Swasthya Sathi Scheme 2021 in your browser at https://swasthyasathi.gov.in/. You will see the home page.
Step 2: Click on ‘Apply online’ button which is given in the main menu.
Step 3: A drop-down list will appear. From this choose the fourth option that you see i.e., Form B which is for Registration under Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
Step 4: After this a pdf will appear on the screen. You then need to fill the required details as are asked and also attach the required documents.
Step 5: After attaching the documents, click on the Submit button. Your registration is now complete.
Step 6: You will be provided with a registration number. Note this number for future use.
