Background of WB Krishak Bandhu Initiative

The Two Components of Krishak Bandhu Scheme
The West Bengal Krishak Bandhu programme for the year 2020 is divided into two components, as follows:-
Assured Income
In the assured income plan, financial support would be offered to all farmers and beneficiaries. Additionally, the scheme includes the following two options: – Farmers with a landholding of one or more acres are entitled to receive Rs. 5000 per annum for both the Rabi and Kharif seasons.
The first episode will be made in June, and the second instalment will be made in November.
Additionally, farmers will receive a pro-rata share of Rs. 2000 per year in minimum support.
Death Benefit
In the death benefit system, farmers’ families would receive Rs. 2 lakh in the event of suicide. Farmers aged 18 to 60 years old may now take advantage of new insurance policy perks.
