Karnataka Earthquake Today: According to KSNDMC, an earthquake of magnitude 2.9 was registered on Wednesday morning around 7.10 a.m. in Chikballapur district’s Mandikal gramme panchayat, while another of magnitude 3.0 was recorded around 7.14 a.m. in the same district’s Bhogaparthi Village, Addagallu Gram panchayat.

According to authorities, the seismic intensity map of the reported earthquakes from the epicentre shows that the intensities measured are mild, and the tremors may be felt up to a maximum radial distance of 10-15 kilometres.

These sorts of earthquakes cause little harm to the local population; while there may be some shaking, the people should not fear because the strength is modest and not damaging, according to Latha.

Following the report, top district authorities were dispatched to these two villages to restore confidence in the people and to prevent panic.  A few geological senior staff were deputed in the village as well.
