Background of DHSE Kerala Plus One Result 2021
Due to the alarming number of increasing COVID cases in the state, the Supreme Court had ordered to initially postpone the Kerala 11th class exams. The bench stated that the situation in Kerala was concerning as the state alone was accounting for more than 70 per cent cases in the country, and the daily cases were not less than 35,000, so it’s not safe to expose the children to such danger yet. The bench also pointed out that students will travel to different parts of the state to appear for the exam and this might inevitably pave the way for another corona wave in the country.
Many Teachers’ associations and even students expressed their concerns that it will not be beneficial to conduct offline exams in these circumstances. On the other hand, few groups argued that online classes and exams do not help in the overall learning process of a student and hence online exams are necessary.

Later the Supreme Court allowed the Kerala government to conduct the exams in offline mode. The decision was made on the basis of Kerala government’s claim that it will take all the precautions and the steps necessary for the safety of the children of tender age and that will also allow for the smooth conduct of the exams.
The exams were initially supposed to start from September 6th but the date was later pushed to September 24th, 2021. The exam was then held from 24th September 2021 to 18th October, 2021.
