Facts About Indian Police

  • Police Officers in Madhya Pradesh get a slight raise in their salary if they have a bigger moustache. Apparently, their authorities are pretty sold on the idea of the moustache playing a role in getting more respect. Now, that is a good reason to grow a moustache!
  • Uttar Pradesh has the largest police force in the entire world! But, as it comes to ratio there are only 65 Cops per 50,000 people.
  •  Police Officers often use their hard earned money for things that are work related. Requesting funding for things is a simple task but budget approvals take a lot of time!

So, in urgency it is the best way to get things done.

Most people think the Police force is a crowd of bullies but a psychiatrist in an episode of “Satyamev Jayate” discussed about the police officers suffering from depression and anxiety after following orders to stop an angry mob, which required some thrashing.

  • The Uniforms! If you’re wondering why the Police uniforms are Khaki, this is as the Britishers introduced their Uniforms to the first batch of the police which were white as snow. The dust quickly made them brown. To solve the issue, they made the Uniform the same colour!
  •    They spend more on housing than training! As new cadets are being hired for the job so is the housing expenses. In the year around 2011-12 India spent INR 1,188.9 Crore on the housing and this number rapidly increased as 70,000 constables were added in the duty making it go upto INR 24,566.3 Crores!
  • Delhi Police plays football with the kids! No, they are not ignoring their duties, They are just making sure that the kids don’t fear the Police as instructed by an NGO known as Project Yuwa.

CONCLUSION

Being responsible citizens of India. It is our duty to promote peace and maintain conduct in the society. Peace is a human value to be maintained not a law to be followed. Let’s create a better World as we do not want a World where people live in fear and darkness. People should live in peace and light.
