IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Ltd, in collaboration with Yashlok Welfare Foundation came forward and provided the high quality Raincoat suits (Pair of long Coat and Trouser) to 1,000 Police personnel of Highway Traffic Police Maharashtra in Mumbai. Distribution of Raincoat suits took place in Churchgate Mumbai through the hands of Dr. Ravinder Singal (IPS) Additional Director General of Police Maharashtra (Highway Traffic) and Mr. Arvind H. Salve (IPS) Superintendent of Police (HQ), HSP, Mumbai along with other senior Police personnel. Mr Sunny Bhandari, Vice President IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance graced the occasion with their physical presence along with Mr. Alok Adhikari, Founder Director of Yashlok Welfare Foundation.
IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance and Yashlok Welfare Foundation Collaborate to Provide Raincoat Suits for Traffic Police
As part of the initiative, 1,000 police personnels from the Highway Traffic Police Maharashtra were provided with a pair of raincoats and trousers. These raincoats and trousers are specially designed to withstand the challenges of the monsoon season and also carry road safety messages printed on each of them, making them powerful messengers for road safety awareness.
Mr Alok Adhikari, emphasized the Yashlok Welfare Foundation’s commitment to empowering underprivileged individuals by providing training and employment opportunities. He also said about the crucial role of IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company without whose generous donation the entire project would not have been possible. The distributed set of raincoats and trousers are all crafted by the unemployed men and women from both urban and rural areas, and thereby creating sustainable livelihoods for their families and communities. Furthermore, the raw materials used in crafting these raincoats are made from recycled waste, aligning with the principles of sustainability, making the entire raincoat recyclable.
Expressing gratitude towards IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance for their generous support, Mr. Alok Adhikari acknowledged the significant impact of their contribution, enabling the creation of raincoat suits for the Traffic Police and promoting a safer environment on the roads.
Mr. Sunny Bhandari, Vice President IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance, lauded the hard work and dedication of the Traffic Police and expressed his delight in being able to provide them with essential raincoats to aid their efforts during the challenging monsoon season. In his words, “We are extremely happy to be able to undertake this initiative as a part of our CSR activities. With the help of this initiative, in this monsoon season, the highway traffic police will be able to discharge their challenging duty in a more secure manner.” He further highlighted the fact that these raincoats were produced by individuals from marginalized backgrounds, ensuring that they have a sustainable source of income and an opportunity for economic upliftment.
