The government of Kerala has released the application forms for the Kerala Vidyakiranam Scholarship Scheme 2021 and can now be downloaded from the official website. This project/scheme is one of the initiatives of the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. This scheme is initiated to provide educational assistance to the physically challenged students as well as their parents. What is the Eligibility Criteria for Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme?
Only the candidates who fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria will be able to avail the benefits of the Vidyakiranam scholarship scheme:
- The Vidyakiranam scholarship will only be provided to the children of parents having physical disability who belong to the BPL category (Below Poverty Line).
- The disability must be 40% or more of the father or mother.
- The applicants should have a copy of their BPL ration card or their income certificate. Same can be taken from the concerned Village officer.
- Applicants must have a physical copy of a Medical Board certificate which will show the percentage of disability.
- Applicants should also have an attested copy of the Disability ID card.

For applying for the scheme you need to first download the application form which is available online. Follow these steps for downloading-
Step 1: Visit the official website of Department of Social Justice, Kerala at http://sjd.kerala.gov.in/.
Step 2: You will see a ‘Schemes’ tab a little to the right of the home page. Click on that.
Step 3: On the page that will now open, scroll down the list till you see a link titled- ‘Vidyakiranam Yojana’. It will be on scheme number 22. Click on that link.
Step 4: The Scheme Details page will now appear. From here, go to the ‘Documents’ section. Then, click on application form link.
Step 5: The Kerala Vidyakiranam Scheme 2021 application form will show in PDF format. Take a printout of the form.
